Skaters

WeSkate – because we skate, and because of that we thought it would be a good idea to promote the Israeli skateboard scene and the culture that goes with it.

WeSkate is a registered non-profit association.  Skaters of all genders, all religions, all beliefs and at any age are welcome here, since we believe that skateboarding knows no borders.  All of us are volunteers who love the shred, and believe that skateboarding can be used as a platform for understanding, co-existence, communication – not to mention the physical benefits of balance, persistence, strengthening core muscles, and the self-confidence that goes with all of that.

Over the past years we have maintained a close partnership with the Jerusalem municipality, working on building several new skate parks and renewing old skate spots. We produce, together with partners in the scene, the annual Jerusalem Skateboarding Championship -  the only skate competition in Israel using international judging programs (thanks to our friends at the Boardr!) and awarding equal prizes for men and women.

What We’ve Achieved

  • Advising the Jerusalem municipality during the construction of the Sacher Park skatepark

  • Lobbying for and renewing the Lisa skate spot - one of the most iconic spots in Israel

  • Collaborating with the J.S.G in creating women's skate session

  • Producing an annual skateboarding competition, according to international standards

  • Collecting and donating gear equipment to support children evacuated due to the war, and skaters in need.

  • Sending local Israeli skaters to represent Israel in international competitions

  • Setting the standard in Israel for prize equality for men and women.

  • Consulting with the Jerusalem municipality during building of the Homat Shmuel - Har Homa skatepark
